d’Good Café Takashimaya

Looking for a place to rest after endless shopping in Orchard? Now you can pretend to be sipping tea and having desserts in London at the d’good cafe in Takashimaya.

Tucked away in a corner, the cafe reminds you of a garden cafe with garden street lights and white garden benches and metal chairs.

There are even white swings converted into seating accompanied by a floral bouquet under the white window grille design meant to create the illusion of a brick house.

The menu is extremely thick like a good sized fashion or lifestyle magazine with a wide range of coffee and tea for selection. However, the savoury and sweet selection is quite limited.

Tea was served in a quaint teapot set with water color paintings of Singapore landmarks. I had a bad selection of tea, the Yuzu mint tea which was quite horrible. I regretted my choice immediately after my first sip.

The mushroom risotto had nice flavours but strangely very watery. It felt more like a rice porridge instead.

The salted caramel cheese cake was just ok. It wasn’t bad or good to leave any impression.

Overall, the atmosphere is great for chilling out or taking a break from shopping witha good range of beverages but the food is very general.
