TGIF! It’s finally the end of a work week and everyone is looking for new or nice places to chill or spend time with friends. East Coast park used to be known only for Macdonalds and seafood but ever since their renovations 2 years back, many new cafes, pubs and restaurants have sprouted along the beach front.
Located at the area nearer to Starbucks and fort road, Atmosphere is an al fresco concept facing the beach. Do be warned that there are mosquitoes so if you are sweet blooded, do ask the service staff for repellent spray and anti mosquito coils.
There is a tiny air conditioned area next to the bar for diners who prefer to keep cool or away from mosquitoes.
The bistro serves a good list of food and finger food to go with your Friday drinks. The fried calamari was crispy and fresh with a huge side bowl of mayonaise.
The mushroom soup was thick and creamy but lacking in mushroom flavours.
The butter mussels were quite tiny and the sauce was really lacklustre although the fried prata that accompanied the dish was really good.
The buffulo wings was quite decent with a nice sauce coating the crispy battered skin ( shakey hands blur picture – effect after a few beers)
You can’t really go wrong with nachos but the sauce was a cross of spicy mayonaise which did not go well with the nachos. I would have preferred a general salsa or cheese sauce
Happy hour for drinks was at 7pm and 9pm for their beer
The cocktails were a disappointment. The blue lagoon too sweet and the pina colada just a diluted milky blend.
