Regal Airport Hotel Xian

We had a very tight schedule in Xian so on the first day we arrived, we decided to stay at the Xian Regal airport Hotel since our arrival was in the wee hours of the morning and we needed to check out pretty early the next morning for our tour.

The Regal Airport hotel is directly linked to Terminal 3 of Xian Xiangyang airport by a bridge linkway. The link is located on the arrivals hall on the 3rd floor right at the far right side of the airport. You should be able to spot signboards pointing you to the right direction. Once you are on the right side, you can spot this huge signboard for the hotel. Once you cross the bridge, you will reach the side lobby of the hotel as well as the cafeteria. As we arrived at 3am, the side counter was empty and we had to call the number placed at the counter for directions

We were directed to walk to the right towards the lift to go down to the main lobby of the hotel which is opened 24 hours. At this point, you can tell that the hotel is quite posh in decor with marble walls and a brightly lit lift lobby

We were greeted by an extremely grand main lobby on the first floor. The lobby itself is huge and this picture is only the check-in counters. The check-in process was rather fast since we arrived so a weird hour. A CNY¥500 room deposit was collected per room and will be refunded upon check out

The other side of the lobby has a travel agency as well as big golden opulent spaces for their guests to hang around. There is also a small area with posh sofas and armchair for guests to sit and rest.

The corridors to the rooms are also brightly lit and there is a good space separation between each door. The hotel is very well maintained even in their public areas so it is definitely worth a 5 star

The room was huge and absolutely wonderful. The pictures on the booking sites did not do it any justice at all. I am not sure if we were given an upgrade as we were on the executive floor but we booked our room at SGD 172 for a deluxe room with twin bed. There was a working desk as well as 2 armchairs with a coffee table at the far end

The beds were very comfortable with very good support and there were at least 3 options for pillows. The room also had many amenities and lighting functions so you can adjust the lights to your preference. The bathroom is has a full view glass window looking into the bedroom and the TV is flushed into the wall facing both beds

The bathroom is huge and brightly lit with clear sparkling marble wall and flooring. There is a full-sized bathtub with a separate shower cubicle and toilet cubicle. Not captured on my photo there is also a flat-screen on the left wall so that you can watch TV while soaking in the bathtub after a long day.

Complimentary bottled water and a coffee machine are also available at the small bar counter. There are also snacks and other drinks in the bar fridge but they are chargeable

This is the view from our bedroom so we can literally see planes taking off from the runway.

This is the main entrance of the hotel which is huge for tour pickups.

Overall, the stay at the Regal Airport hotel was extremely pleasant although it was very short. It can definitely match any 5-star chain hotel in terms of comfort, room size, room furnishings. The proximity to the airport also makes it a good business hotel for travellers who need to catch early flights. My only regret was not having enough time to explore the hotel as the coffee lounge, spa, gym and restaurant all look pretty good from the website

Room rates start from SGD 142

      1. If you are heading to Shanghai, the hotel rates are generally higher as it is one of the main cities in China. Expect USD 200 to USD 300 for Crown Plaza or Holiday Inn kind of hotel.

      2. I will not recommend that because of the regulations involved. Most airbnb will require you to register your stay at a local police station and you might get some issues at the customs. If you are on a budget, I’m sure there can be some hotels within your budget. Check out agoda or booking.com for promotions.
