Looking ahead

It has been 8 years since I decided to start penning down my thoughts on travel and food, just as a record of my life and to share my experiences with anyone who would read them. As I grow older, my energy levels start dipping, and the way I consume information also changes. As a food and travel blogger, I started getting my information from short-form content like stories, reels, or simply video reviews on social media instead of reading a proper blog post as I used to. It suddenly dawned on me that maybe people do not need long blog reviews anymore. So then, what is the purpose of this blog from now on?

Over the years, I would be lying to see if I was not stressed out to see if anyone was reading my posts and when viewership is high, I get motivated to write more, and when viewership is low, some of my posts are also quite, half-hearted and that is when I chide on myself for being unprofessional with my writing as I should have maintained my standards regardless. So I tell myself I should persevere on and write for the loyal group of readers I have, and I should continue to review places and things to save the next person the hassle of stepping on the wrong path or visiting a bad restaurant

As AI started integrating into our lives, I realised you can get a good recommendation on trip itineraries and hacks just with a few prompts, and it saves you the time of reading through multiple blogs. I even started using AI to plan some short trip getaways, as I enjoyed the hassle-free and time-saving approach, so again it dawned upon me, who am I writing for?

While I continue to explore and wonder what the next step I should be taking is, I will continue writing since I have already paid for this domain.
