I was looking around Fukuoka airport area for a good and affordable lodging and chanced upon this hotel. While the pictures online looks really old and run down, the price was really good so I decided to just go ahead and book for a room. When we arrived, it was pretty dark so it was not easy to locate the hotel since there is no big signboard. The outlook of the hotel looks more like a residential apartment more than a hotel.
The hotel has double glass doors at the entrance and the inner door will be locked at 11 pm so do make sure you check in by 11 pm if not you will not be able to access the hotel
For hotel guest who needs to access the hotel after 11pm, they can open the door using their room key on this security panel
The lobby itself is very classy and modern which is totally over my expectations since the online pictures really looked bad.
The check in process is fairly simple and straightforward and the owner speaks English pretty well. Jazz music plays in the lobby and there is a service bell at the counter as the owner might not always be at the reception
Water and tea dispenser is available only from 7 am to 11 pm
The corridor is rather narrow and looks exactly like a private apartment with up to 6 apartments per floor
The apartment comes with a small kitchenette area which has a medium sized refrigerator, oven, sink as well as a electric thermal plate for cooking
The washroom and the bathroom is separated with the sink placed outside
The bathroom is of a good size with a low bath tub and a low counter where all the amenities are kept. The only downside is that there is no place to really hang your clothes except for a hanger provided. I placed mine in the laundry basket outside the door
The towels and amenities are provided in this laundry basket which can be moved to the front of the bathroom to keep your clothes dry while you bath
The room is quite big in size with a desk as well as a table where guest can use for dining. Yukata is also provided for guests to wear during the stay
The bed is a full queen size and there is plenty of space in the room for your luggage and there is a inner door which separates the bed room from the kitchen and bathroom.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Plaza Fuyo Hotel and the pictures online really is too outdated and did not do the hotel justice. I am glad that I found the hotel as the location is also very good with the entire street of restaurants and convenience stores 3 mins walk away.
