Chop Fu Chow Bao

Dim Sum is one of the best choices for breakfast and a great way to spend breakfast times with family. Chop Fu Chow Bao is one of more famous dim sum shop in Kluang

The setup is simple like your usual coffee shop with round tables and plastic chairs

The menu offers quite a variety of steamed and fried dim sum items

All of the fried items are prepared beforehand and displayed in the glass showcase whereas the steamed items were served from the kitchen.

The pork and century egg congee; a hot favourite at dim sum, is very smooth and flavoured nicely. The consistency is not very thick but not overly thin as well. It is just right so as that your stomach is not filled up immediately.

The char siew bao is huge in size but with very little filling. The flour of the bao was very smooth and tasted faintly sweet. The char siew was quite general in taste.

The siew mai was nice with a good mix of pork and prawn meat. There was a nice spring to each bite

The skin was slightly tough but the yam filling was smooth and sweet.

The pan fried carrot cake was my personal favourite. The skin was pan fried till golden brown and crispy while the inside was still soft and creamy with bits of chinese sausage.

The egg tarts were just normal with the crust a little bit soft while I expected it to be crispy.

The prawn dumpling had very thick skin and was too chewy for me. The filling had a generous sized prawn.

Overall, the food here is quite general for it’s price but it is definitely a nice place to bring your family members for early breakfast.
