Imperial Hotel Kluang

Kluang is a small town about 2 hours drive away from Singapore. The town used to be very backward and only had a couple of street shops but have since developed to be a bustling new town. We visit at least once a year to see our relatives and discovered The Imperial hotel on one of our trips.

The hotel is located right in the center of town with walking access to the 2 malls in town as well as many street restaurant and shops. The hotel is basically a 3 star hotel with less than 50 rooms

The lobby is simple with 2 sofa for guest to wait for check in and only 1 staff at the counter to attend to guests at any one time. The staff are generally friendly and helpful to your requests but do expect service to be slightly slow.

There is also a cafe in the unit next to the reception that serves simple breakfast like fried vermicelli or toasted bread. There is also only 1 staff here so service is very slow. The food was bad so you will be better off eating outside.

We had the family room which is basically 2 rooms joined together as seen in the picture, there is a door leading to the 2nd room but there is only 1 entrance.

The main room has a king sized bed with a desk, TV and bar fridge and wardrobe. Complimentary drinking water is provided with tea making facilities.

The 2nd room has a queen sized bed with it’s own TV and air conditioning unit but no wardrobe.

The toilet is huge in size and shared by both rooms. Basic amenities are provided and the bathing cubicle only comes with the rain shower. The minus point was the heater as they tend to run out of hot water pretty quickly although a 5 mins wait will bring back a bout of hot water again

Overall, the hotel rooms are acceptable and pretty big in size. Bed linens are generally clean but has old stains. If you were to really critic the room, there are corners where you can find accumulated dust which is not cleaned properly. For the price and location and in a small town like Kluang, it is considered acceptable.

Rooms start from : SGD 35
