St Regis is the epitome of 6 star service with luxury accomodations. I would have never stayed here unless I struck lottery but thank my stars, I had the chance to stay here as we were having an important event at the hotel
The St Regis Bangkok is located at Ratchadamri road which is straight down 7 mins by foot from the Erawan Shrine. Directed connected to the Ratchadamri BTS station at level 2 which is on the same line as the MBK stop, travelling to any shopping mall is extremely convenient. If you worry about security, the linkway is screened by a security going back into the hotel. Only hotel guest with a valid hotel card is allowed entry.
The first floor is where the Japanese restaurant and a small lobby cafe is located for people to meet for discussions. The main check in counters are located at the 12th floor. The counters are set in separate private consultation styled tables for privacy and dedicated service.
There are only a limited number of rooms per floor so each room has a spacious entry space at the door. The rooms are so huge that my twin room has 2 huge queen beds, a separate desk area for work as well as a small lounge chair area for watching the tv. It felt more like a suite room to me. The beds were so comfortable that I cursed every morning I had to wake up early for work.
The bathroom was brightly lit and spacious with a separate bathtub and shower areas. The amenities provided were of good quality.
The main thing to differentiate St Regis is their dedicated butler service which is available at our room. Your butler will press 2 complimentary clothing for you, unpack your luggage or even set your bath tub for you.
The best part is that you can get your butler to bring you a hot cup of tea or coffee or even chocolate at any time of the day and its not just packet coffee but fresh espresso machine.
Breakfast is located at level 12 with a wide range of western, thai and chinese cuisines. There is a counter for fresh fruit juices and the food is generally ok in terms of taste. While the presentation of the food stations are quite exquisite, I personally still find Marriott queen’s park the winner for hotel breakfast in Bangkok.
I had a chance to have a business dinner at the Zuma restaurant at level 1. It is decorated in an extremely zen manner which transform your entire experience into a meal in Japan. The dishes are priced on the high end but are of the top quality plated in the most exquisite manner. The price range is easily over SGD 100 per person for dinner.
There is also a very chill bar at level 12 which serves cocktails and alcoholic drinks. This is a classy venue for after work chilling sessions.
Overall, St Regis doesn’t disappoint and other then commenting how much I enjoyed my stay, my other comment which will to experience it yourself! For those hoping to get the St Regis experience, do try them at Bangkok as it is one of the most affordable ST Regis rooms in the region.
