Anantara is a hotel group with mainly 5 star and above hotels under it’s name. The hotels are considered luxury hotels and is mostly out of reach for the poor traveler like me. Unknown to many, there is a service apartment right in town under the Anantara group with huge and spacious suite rooms which are quite affordable and good for families. The Anantara Baan Rajprasong is located just one street from St Regis hotel and is 5 mins walk to the Ratchadamri BTS station and 2 mins away from a Villa market which is a mini mart.
With your ride dropping you off, you will feel like you have returned to your own condominium in Bangkok where your security will greet you except that there are also service staff will help you with your luggage. The staff will willingly process your check in at the sofa area without you leaving the comfort of the lounge chairs. Every guest is served a cold towel and cold welcome drink.
The lobby is not very big and there are only a couple of sofa seats for guests. The entire space is decorated in clean white walls with contemporary art pieces and furniture.
There is both 1 or 2 bedroom suites where you will be greeted by a modern living area as well as a kitchenette space. The sofa is ideal to lounge and the living area is very well maintained.
Just separated by a door is the bedroom space of this 1 bedroom unit. The bed is ultra comfortable and is a King’s sized bed. Each room also comes with a balcony where you can see the start of the street and the Lumpini Park in a distance. The bathroom can be reached from both the living room and the bedroom and is extremely huge with a separate shower area and bathtub for the traveler. Just don’t forget to lock both doors.
There is only 1 restaurant in the hotel and this is the same cafe where breakfast is served. The food is generally American style with some selection of Asian favorites from China, Korean/Japanese.
Overall, those who like apartment styled accommodation will like this place. Even though it is an apartment, it still has a swimming pool for guests.
