am.pm Hongkong

This is our 2nd souffle pancake for the trip and I actually found out about this place from watching one of the episodes of Running Man. This is actually more of a food truck than a cafe as there are no available tables or chairs for dining.

This cutesy and striking desserts truck is located in the Yau Ma Tei area which is full of old buildings and typical Hong Kong dessert shops. Painted in a striking yellow, the food truck stands out from the rest of the older buildings

Other than the famous souffle pancakes, the truck actually serves up a huge variety of desserts of drinks. The menu is very quirky with drinks like the bear brick Matcha latte which comes with a mini bear brick figurine which melts in the drink.

When it comes to their souffle pancakes, you will be spoilt for choice. They have the original, creme brulee, chocolate lava, Matcha lava or the usual banana caramel and more. They are constantly introducing new flavors so do check their Facebook page for more flavors.

We were too full to order the other flavors so we just ordered the creme brulee version with a scope of ice cream. Comparing this to the Flippers one, am.pm definitely has much better tasting pancakes. The pancakes are fluffy but on a stiffer consistency. The melted sugar provided a good texture as well.

The ice cream which came with the pancake was blue and tasted very unique. While we were standing in front of the truck commenting about the ice cream, a friendly uncle past us with a bag of trash and commented on our queries. Turns out he is the owner of the store and told us that the ice cream has butterfly pea flowers in it thus the slightly tinge of blue color. The ice cream was very tasty and paired with the souffle very well.

Overall, I would say the desserts here are well worth the calories and other than pancakes, they serve the traditional egglets with ice cream as well. Would I say this is the best souffle pancake in Hong Kong, well, look out for my review on 2 other pancake cafes in Hong Kong for the verdict.
