I was pretty obsessed with head spas after trying it in Bangkok, and head spas are too expensive to do frequently in Singapore, so when I was in Chiangmai, I searched for a highly rated outlet and made a quick booking

Located in the old city of Chiangmai, Antique Massage has 2 outlets: the Garden House branch and the Wualai Walking Street branch. Since the Wualai Walking Street branch was nearer to our hotel, we booked with them
The outlet was nestled in a 4-storey building which was very new and easily spotted from a distance due to its modern and minimalist design. The same aesthetics were used in the interiors, with a high ceiling, rattan seats, wooden tables and a very spacious lobby for customers to sit and rest
There was a section in the lobby selling massage essential oils and herbal compress tools for customers who would like to buy the products used in their massage sessions. There is also a wash basin area where each customer’s feet are washed and dried before slippers are handed out to be worn at the other levels of the massage place
We were served a welcome drink: roasted coconut water in a traditional Thai silver bowl, with spoons to eat the coconut flesh. The coconut water was extremely sweet and really made you feel like you were on vacation
I was taken to the 3rd floor, where a cluster of rooms was located, and since I was doing a head spa, I was brought to the water rooms, where the massage beds were connected to a wash basin. I was given disposable underwear to change into and quickly covered with towels and warm blankets as I lay down on the cushy bed. Compared to normal massage beds, this was more plush and cushy to lie on, and the best part was that it felt warm throughout my massage
After the whole head spa, I was brought to the 2nd floor for the drying of my hair. Unlike head spas in Singapore, where they give you a basic blow-dry, the staff here bothered to give you hair styling for free. They even had flat irons and curlers to make sure they gave you a satisfactory hair blow-dry

They also served hot ginger tea to end off the massage and some sweet snack which I did not eat. Overall, the head spa was so good that I went back a 2nd time during my stay in Chiangmai. The whole environment was clean and classy, with top service in blow-drying my hair and making sure each customer walked out satisfied. The head massage itself was top-notch, as they used traditional Thai herbs on my scalp and various tools to release the tension and stress from my head and temples. The water feature also helped my whole body relax as you take in the soothing music and lighting, and it was so easy to drift off to sleep

I chose the signature Herb Hair Time, which included a facial as well, so my entire head was relaxed and tension-free by the end of the session. For those who do not want to do a head spa, they do have other body and foot massages available
I highly reccomend to try out the head spa here. Although it might not be the cheapest in Chiang Mai, in comparison to Bangkok and Singapore, this is a steal for a premium environment. A special service is pickup and drop-off service for any customer who stays within 10KM radius
