Harajuku is renowned for its colorful street art and fashion scene, with quirky vintage clothing stores and cosplay shops along Takeshita Street. Further up the street, you can also visit Omotesando Avenue which is filled with branded boutiques as well as up market American or European street brands. If you visit every single shop in Harajuku, it will take up your entire day and even more but there is one magical shop which you can’t miss especially if you are a fan of Alice in Wonderland.
Located just a few mins walk from Takeshita is this great blue wall which will definitely catch you eyes as many Instagrammers have taken multiple pictures in front of this wall. The more interesting thing about the wall is the 4 doors in the wall; a big door, the normal sized one, a slightly smaller one and an extremely small one. The actual entrance of the shop is through the smallest of the doors.
The moment you enter, it is almost like entering a magical land from big to small.
As you go through a journey from the door, you can spot small magical touches to get you immersed in the atmosphere like this clock floor projector.
The first floor is where the cashier is located as well as shelves of chocolates and sweets which makes perfect unique gifts.
Just like this small bottle of ‘Drink Me”potion which is actually just a soda drink
The 2nd storey is a room filled with accessories and whatever you seek to find, you can probably find them here.
Throughout the different floors, you can find pretty items like this red leather chair which resembles the red queen’s throne. Most of these items is open for photo taking so you are free to sit on it for photos.
There is a lot of blink in most of the accessories with a lot of roses or Alice in the Wonderland designs.
On the stairs to the 3rd floor, you can find detailed decorations of the forest on the walls like this giant mushroom and caterpillar.
On the highest floor, you can find the smiling Cheshire cat on the wall as well as many drawings from the Alice in Wonderland story.
The top floor has bags, book marks as well as other home decorations for sales and is all related to the Alice in Wonderland tale.
As you exit the store through the same small door, you will indeed miss leaving behind a magical fantasy experience.
Personally, I think fans of accessories will go crazy here as there is so much items to see from earrings, bracelets, keychains, hair pins and everything is either so pretty or cute. Even if accessories are not your thing, but you are an absolute fan of Alice in Wonderland, this place is definitely for you as well as all the decorations in the store is of very high quality and I am sure you can walk away with at least 1 souvenir
