Leong Kee ( Klang) Bak Kut Teh

As we craved for the Malaysian styled Bak Kut Teh so much, we decided to search around Singapore and remember this particular store we used to patronise very often. Leong Kee used to have an outlet at Beach Road but has since only 1 outlet left at Geylang.

The stall takes a corner unit at Geylang with one indoor and the other all seats outdoor just next to the streets.

The indoor unit is air conditioned with many uniformed seating

There are many famous celebrities who visit Leong Kee for their Bak Kut Teh.

There is a small little counter where they have tubs of minced garlic and cut red chilli as well as light and dark soy sauce.

Pretty much like the Malaysian version, you can order the pork ribs with pig organs. For the price of 1 pot of organ order, i think the serving is pretty small.

Extra bean curd skin order will also come in another clay pot with soup and button mushrooms.

Other interesting sides included this braised clay pot pig small intestines which is thoroughly braised with strong soy flavours. The intestines are also soft and easy to bite through.

They also served pickled salty vegetables which went extremely well with rice and a spoonful of soup.

Overall, Liang Kee left us totally unsatisfied from our cravings. Firstly, the soup had a very dark soup which is a result of an overpowering herbal base. The soup was very murky and thick which was neither sweet or addictive to drink. In fact, it left a sore throat feeling. The standards have dropped so much that I probably will not visit them again.
