MoMoo Juice Bar & Coffee Harbour Bay

In recent years, many cafes have also popped up in Batam making it a great location for cafe hopping. While the cafe scene is not as mature as in Singapore or Malaysia, they do have some decent cafes which are highly recommended by many influencers or bloggers

We tried visiting the cafes on the recommended lists but unfortunately, some were closed for private events or some were just too far from our location based on what we were doing so instead, we decided to pop into the cafe near our hotel after dinner. Located on the same stretch as Harbour Bay Seafood Restaurant, MoMoo Juice bar looks quite aesthetic with its modern industrial chic design of black and natural green from the plants

The overall decor of the cafe reminded me of P.S. Cafe with the centre juice and beverage bar, high ceiling and contrast of green plants all over the cafe space. They also have an outdoor section which is non-air-conditioned and you can sit next to the sea but I found it very noisy as there was a music bar and pub just next to the cafe

In terms of menu, they do serve hot food like pasta and pizza as well as some Asian and Western mains. As we had dinner beforehand, we went directly for the desserts and sweets menu

The presentation of the drinks was decent as we got a pot of tea, orange juice and hot chocolate. The tea and chocolate were fine but the juice was not very sweet

For desserts, we ordered a kaya toast and waffles with ice cream and berries compote which took almost 45 mins to be served. We had to check with the staff a few times before our desserts arrived. As we were full from dinner, we did not mind the wait but on a normal day, the wait would be slightly too long as the cafe was not even at full capacity. The waffles were crispy but had a floury taste and were not fluffy. The ice cream made it more palatable but they were quite mediocre waffles. The toast was also very dry and hard. The kaya tasted slightly artificial with a very strong pandan flavour but no coconut fragrance. We did not finish both items in the end as they were just too dry

Overall, the environment was nice and chill but the food was just mediocre with room for improvement
