Lobsterfest 2023 – Lime Restaurant

With great anticipation, the Lobsterfest returns to Lime Restaurant at Parkroyal Pickering. With great success last year, this year’s Lobsterfest is held from 15 June to 13 August ( extended date)

At a price of SGD 166 ( before tax) for adults and SGD 98 for children, it is not your usual buffet since you get to feast on lobsters till satisfied

The restaurant is located in the lobby of the hotel and is spacious with each food station in different areas to break up the crowd. Table seating for dining is wide and spacious for customers although the ones next to the ceiling-to-floor windows come with sofa seats which are slightly too low for proper meals so if you have a preference for seating, do mention it to the staff

Food station walk-through

It was very crowded so pretty hard for me to do a proper station walk-through

There were many food stations; firstly from the main entrance we were greeted by the drinks and dessert station, followed by the salads and cold dishes stations on the left, grilled and pre-cooked stations on the right, the seafood on ice station on the right next to the bar and followed by the outdoor live grill station

The seafood on the ice station had lobsters, crab claw, prawns, mussels, whelks, and clams as well as a variety of dips and sauces for your to enjoy your cold seafood. The seafood was fresh and sweet so do make this the first station to enjoy the natural sweetness of the seafood. The lobsters were small-sized and not very fleshy but having multiple portions would be able to satisfy the lobster cravings. Right next to the seafood on ice station was a sashimi station which only had tuna and salmon so I gave it a miss. I loved that this station was a self-help station so you can take any number of lobsters without being judged

Next was the pre-cooked dishes station which had 3 different types of cooked lobster; chilli crab sauce lobster, steamed with garlic and ginger and spicy curry sauce flavour. Personally, I liked the curry sauce flavour as it complemented the lobster meat the best. The chilli gravy was diluted and quite lacking in my opinion whereas the steamed version suited light palates. These stations were not self-serviced and the staff was quite reluctant to give us more than 2 pieces when we wanted to get 5 per flavour to share amongst 5 of us at the table. After explaining we had 5 people, the staff still did give us the lobster

The next batches of lobster were from the baked lobster thermidor, lobster laksa, lobster brioche roll, lobster bisque and barbeque lobster. Compared to the stir-fry versions, I do think the baked and bbq versions were much more delicious as the baked cheese on the lobster was creamy and buttery adding a moist layer to the lobster whereas the bbq ones added a nice charred flavour to the shell thus bringing out the sweetness of the lobster flesh. The laksa and bisque were very nice and decent although the lobster roll was less of a highlight

I lost count of the number of lobsters I had during the meal but it would have made my money worth and I totally did not take any other dishes other than lobster like the roast meats and Hainanese chicken rice. Instead, I took some crackers to eat with hummus and guacamole which is some of my favourite foods and also helped break my appetite from too much lobster. The desserts were generally ok although we did not have much stomach space left for them

Overall, if you are a lobster or seafood lover, the Lobsterfest is definitely a buffet you should visit to get a feast on endless lobster. You have 1 more day to visit after seeing my post or maybe you can start planning to visit for next year’s Lobsterfest
