CityInn Hotel Plus

Whenever I travel to Taipei for a holiday, I will always try to look for hotels around the Ximending area to facilitate easy shopping and buying of supper since Ximending has street snacks up to really late at night. I had the chance to visit the more commercial side of Taipei for a business trip and stayed at one of the CityInn outlet at Fuxing North area. CityInn has a total of 6 hotels with 3 around the Taipei main station, 1 in Taichung , 1 in Ximending and lastly the one in Fuxing North.

The stretch of road where CityInn Hotel Plus is located is amongst some very old buildings but the hotel visibly stands out as the building is relatively new and modern. The lobby area itself is huge and spacious and very brightly lit with huge artistic floral arrangement structure taking the centerStage in the lobby.

One corner of the lobby is dedicated to a few computer terminals for their customers to surf the internet or even read some of the books provided on their shelves. The also provide a printer for guests who needs to print any documents. There is also a scale for customer who wish to weigh their luggage after too much shopping.

Nearer to the lift area, there is a small coffee counter where guest can have coffee and relax.

The lift is of standard size and requires you room key as security measure before you can go to the room floors.

The corridors is extremely well maintained and clean and brightly lit with clear indication of each room number.

There is a very cute yellow letter box in front of each room and each letter box represents a different township in Taiwan.

As the entire hotel is smoke free, there is a small balcony area on each floor right next to the lift lobby for smokers to smoke. The small landing is open air and there is a small bin for customers to throw their cigarette butts.

The room itself is considered medium sized with sufficient space for 2 medium sized luggage to open fully on the floor in front of the bed. The bed is of queen sized and is soft but has good support at the same time. The pillows however are too soft for me and when 2 is piled together too high.

They even have small welcome surprises for the guest upon check in like these biscuits.

On the other side of the bed, there is a small bench table for guest to work from as well as a small pantry area.

The small pantry area has a bar fridge as well as electric kettle, 2 bottles of water and 2 packets of snacks which are all complimentary as the hotel do not provide breakfast.

For guest who needs to put their valuables in the hotel can also use the safe provided within the room.

There is no wardrobe in the room and the designer made use of the space on top of the desk and create an area where you can hang your clothes.

There is not much of a view from the window and since it is the commercial area, the proximity to the next building is very close so it is recommended to keep the curtains closed.

The bathroom is of a good size and the toilet comes with the bidet and most importantly, the bathroom is brightly lit and very clean.

The hotel is very meticulous in small details like this stool to help customers get into the tub since the tub is quite high.

The bathtub is a good size and is deep enough for a good soak. The sliding door also stop any water from splashing onto the dry basin and toilet area. They provide all amenities from shampoo, bath gel, hand wash, toothbrush, shaver etc.

Something I really liked about this hotel was the level 2 rest area. The entire level 2 is dedicated to a comfortable rest area for guest to rest and mingle or even buy food from outside and eat them in the comfort of air conditioning without dirtying your bedroom.

20190326_151723.jpg

There are plenty of low tables and chairs for eating as well as more computer stations for guest to use here.

There are also complimentary coffee, tea and hot chocolate with the coffee machine as well as an espresso machine and the hot and cold water dispenser. There are also microwave and 2 oven available for guest to heat up their food.

20190327_234734.jpg

There is also a mini kitchenette area where they provide plates, bowl and cups for customers to have their meals on proper plates. Everything at this level is self service as there is also a sink for guest to wash the items they have used.

20190327_234422.jpg

At level 2, there is also a self service laundry area where you can pay for detergent and use both the dryer and washer to clean your clothes.

They have very clear instructions for guest to use the machines in the laundry area as well.

Overall, I loved my stay at the CityInn Hotel Plus. Even though it is not a 5 star chain hotel, I felt that the service standards were as high as 5 star hotels and the cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel is kept at the highest standards. Every small attention to details like providing all the necessary additional services; oven, coffee etc is great for business travellers who are away from home. The hotel also provide purchase on behalf service to get famous Taiwanese snacks for those who has no time to purchase them, you just have to pay a small service fee and the items will be delivered to the hotel before your departure. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who needs to stay around the Fuxing area.
