Dubrovnik is a city in southern Croatia fronting the Adriatic Sea. It’s known for its distinctive Old Town, encircled with massive stone walls completed in the 16th century. It shot to fame after Games of Thrones released Dubrovnik as one of its filming sites. Since then, many GOT fans have been travelling here to see for themselves the actual historic sites they see in the TV series. Dubrovnik is a pretty city and can be covered in 1 day, even for non-GOT fans, this place is worth your time visiting.
- Cable Car to Srd Hill
Take the cable car to the top of Srd Hill where you will get the best paranormic view of the entire Old Town of Dubrovnik. At 415 metres above sea level, you will get a bird’s eye view of the surrounding island near Dubrovnik as well. This should be your first itinerary so that you can enjoy Srd hill with less crowd. A round ticket for an adult will cost Croatian Kuna 150,00 and the operating hours vary according to the season. You can check the timing here
There is a Panorama restaurant and bar at the upper deck of the cable car station on top of the Srd Hill. There are the only restaurant in Dubrovnik with the best view so you can take in the full beauty while having your lunch or even dinner when the town is lit. There will be so many angles for you to feed your cameras.

2 Walls of Old Town
Dubrovnik’s city walls are a series of defensive stone walls that stretch completely around the old town, a distance totalling 1,940 metres in length and reaching a maximum height of about 25 metres. You can walk around the entire wall and see the Old Town from an aerial view as well as see some of the filming sites of Games of Thrones like The Bokar Fortress which was featured in season two of GOT as part of the King’s landing.
The Seaside walls can also be seen in many scenes of GOT, the west wall near the Pile Gate is used as a practice yard in season four and The base of Minčeta Tower was used as the exterior of House of Undying in the town of Qarth. GOT fans will definitely enjoy this walk and non-fans will still enjoy the views from the wall and the great photos you can get from the wall. 3 Old Town
The Old Town is full of medieval air and GOT fans can find even more filming locations within the Old Town. The Old Town has plenty of restaurants and cafes as well as souvenir shops. One of the souvenir shops to visit is the Dubrovnik City shop where you buy souvenirs at cheaper prices and also get to sit on the metal throne used in GOT.
4. Dubrovnik Cathedral/ Rector’s Palace, Dubrovnik
The Rector’s Palace is a palace in the city of Dubrovnik that used to serve as the seat of the Rector of the Republic of Ragusa between the 14th century and 1808. It is now an elegant 14th-century Gothic-Renaissance palace museum featuring period furnishings & coats of arms. The architecture is excellent but there is nothing much to see in the museum. The cathedral is an early 18th-century baroque cathedral featuring a triptych by Titian & works by Italian masters.
5 Buza Bar
This is the most beautiful bar with the most beautiful view in Old Town. Perched on top of the cliff of the old town, the bar overlooks the Adriatic sea. They serve very simple bottled drinks, mostly alcoholic so you can just kick back your shoes and enjoy the view.

6 Boat Cruise
You can also take a boat cruise which will bring you to see Dubrovnik Old Town from outside the ancient walls as well as the surrounding islands. The beauty of the Adriatic sea will take all your fatigue for the day.

8 Old Town Night Views and Dinner
Old Town at night has a totally different feel from the day and it is a very enjoyable walk enjoying the evening breeze through the town.
