A Japanese-inspired patisserie that prides itself on offering quality bakes and authentic ingredients, Nesuto is located at Tanjong Pagar with 3 other outlets at MBS, Jewel and ION.

Since I finished my dinner around the Tanjung Pagar area, I visited the outlet there, which is nestled along Tras Street amongst many popular restaurants, so the space got very crowded after dinner timing
The space is small and cosy with seating for up to 20 people. The front of the cafe houses the main cakes and desserts display for both take-away and dining in
For drinks, we opted for the hot peppermint tea and matcha latte, which was creamy and smooth. For matcha lovers, the flavour of the tea comes through well, but it was not sweet enough for my friend, who has a sweet tooth

As there were not many cakes left, we grabbed what we could see left at the counter, the first was one of their signatures: the strawberry shortcake. The vanilla soufflé sponge cake was soft and fluffy and paired well with the fresh strawberries, mascarpone, and chantilly cream. The only downside was the texture of the sponge, as it was a little bit rough

We had this pretty pastry, which is heart-shaped and named Queen Ispahan. On top of a raspberry sablee, the pastry has a casing of raspberry bavaroise encasing a filling of lychee gelee and rose namelaka. Overall, the flavours have a sweet and tangy balance, which was rich on its own, but perfect with hot

The last item we had was the chocolate vanilla, which is a stack of chocolate vanilla sponge on top of cocoa nib sablee, with a casing of chocolate mousse and vanilla mousse, and fillings of vanilla namelaka, dark chocolate cremeux, and cocoa nib nougatine. This dessert was extremely rich, with multiple layers of different textures, flavours, and thicknesses. Each bite was very filling and rich, and is perfect for chocolate lovers
Overall, the desserts were nice and mostly sweet, which could be balanced out with their non-sweet beverages. The space is not big but cosy and comfortable, with a good separation of the tables for good privacy, so conversations do not cross between groups, which is good for diners
