Golden Farm

After hearing so much about the Golden Pig barbecue restaurant, I tried visiting them at a later hour and failed to get a seat. Since I was on a short trip and really wanted to have barbecue before returning, I settled for one at Myeongdong, which caters to single diners

I was walking around Myeongdong trying to find a restaurant offering a barbecue buffet and friendly for single diners, but I just couldn’t find the restaurant featured on my reels. I decided to just randomly pick one restaurant, which looked ok and tried my luck at getting a table for 1 pax

Located on the 3rd floor of the building, you can access the restaurant from the lift lobby in between the shops on level one. I was surprised to find the restaurant quite crowded even at a late hour, and it consists of a mix of big groups and single diners. The space is huge and brightly lit

Every table also has its own order tablet with english so it is foreigner-friendly and single-diner-friendly as well

Since I was eating alone, my table was huge and could house many plates at the same time. There were many side dishes served: corn salad, kimchi, spicy spring onion, japchae, seasoned spinach, seasoned chilli and onions

The staff will assist in the grilling of the meat, and since I was alone, I only ordered 1 piece of pork collar and 1 piece of pork belly. Each meat order came with rice cake and mushrooms, which were grilled together with the meat. Each piece of meat is grilled quite perfectly with a nice charred side on the meat with slightly crispy skin without any burnt bits. The meat was juicy and perfect with the vegetable wraps, and they are also not too expensive

I also ordered a soondu bu soup to complete the meal, and their soup was full of ingredients and tasted mainly savoury and refreshing at the same time. There was nothing too special about the soup as it carries the flavour that a tofu soup should, and nothing was too outstanding

Overall, Golden Farm offered good service for anyone who wishes to have Korean barbecue in Myeong-dong. The meat is fresh and does not have any foul smell, and the service staff grill the meat well for their customers. Those who crave meat in the middle of the night will be delighted that the restaurant opens till 4am
