Treasures Yi Dian Xin

It’s not the first time I had dim sum at Treasures, but probably the first at this outlet at Paragon Mall. Located in the basement of Paragon Mall, Treasures Yi Dian Xin is a casual dining establishment offering great quality, taste and value for money

As part of the Imperial Treasures Group, the quality of the food offered by this establishment is guaranteed. This particular dim sum outlet is a semi-open concept where shoppers can look in on the diners

The space is open and well laid out to seat as many groups of customers as possible. The space between tables can be a little tight, which reminds me of a typical Cantonese dim sum restaurant, where you can hear the next table’s conversation quite clearly

We ordered some of the usual dishes like the pork and century egg congee, and rice roll with crispy fritters. The quality of the dim sum is good and refined, with smooth, creamy consistency for the congee and balanced flavours for the rice rolls

We also ordered the main steamed dim sum, including prawn dumplings, pork siew mai, and spicy braised chicken feet. The chicken feet were soft and easy to eat, even for my mum and were on the spicy side. The siew mai has generous fillings, which were juicy and tasty, while the skin of the prawn dumplings was thin and chewy, which paired well with the big shrimp

We also ordered the roast pork and roast duck as the next table was having them, and we could not resist ordering a serving. The roast pork had great crispy skin and a fragrant, salty flavour and was perfect with mustard sauce, which is a very Cantonese way of eating roast pork. The roast duck was flavourful and tender with a nice charred roasted flavour on the skin

Last but not least, the final batches of dim sum we ordered are more baked dessert items like the egg tarts, pan-fried crystal dumpling, porcupine custard buns and osmanthus jelly. The dim sum again does not disappoint and is great in flavours and texture

Overall, Yi Dian Xin serves great dim sum items for a rather affordable price. The quality of the dishes was also refined, with great taste, and it is a nice place to bring friends who like dim sum
