Wu Ji Mi Xian – Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area

When it comes to scenic tourist areas, there are always limited food options, which are priced higher than the usual, but within the Jiuzhaigou area, there were plenty of food options for visitors to choose from; local food to fast food and western selections. The only downside is that all the options were clustered together at the centre visitor centre; the valley between the 2 mountains, so you have to plan your visit to make sure you come back to the centre for your meals

Due to the higher altitudes, our appetites were smaller, and we wanted something lighter, so we went for the vermicelli soup as our guide told us this store is pretty ok in the area

The store is quite spacious and has many seats available for customers. It is also a self-service restaurant where you put in your orders at the counter and are given a number to collect your food when it is ready

Just like other noodle soup places, they offer a variety of broths to choose from, including clear mushroom soup, chicken broth, tomato broth, spicy broth, and sour vegetable soup. The noodles were quite chewy and springy with a bit of a floury taste. The soup I ordered was very light and more to the bland side, but it was ok since I did not have much appetite. On a normal day, I would probably think the noodles were mediocre. The chicken was very bony and hardly had any flesh

Overall, I would not really revisit them unless you have a palate for very light-tasting food. The amount of chicken given was also quite miserable
