Breakfast Spot (Petaling Street)

We headed to Petaling Street to get my usual traditional biscuits from Fung Wong, and also our favourite soy bean milk, before strolling around looking for a cafe to chill. The cafe I used to visit has unfortunately closed down, so we chose a less crowded one around the corner

Named as the breakfast spot, the cafe was quite dainty-looking from the outside

Once inside, the cafe was split into different themes in different sections. The first part was themed as Borneo coffee with Safari elements, so there were coffee gunny sacks lining the ceiling and murals of animals on the walls. The 2nd section was nature-based with walls of greenery, paintings, a gramophone and potted plants, while the last section was decorated with pages torn from books

They had a small counter showcasing their baked goods, which was quite minimal in choices by the time we visited, which was in the late afternoon

They do have interesting food options like curry chicken and kaya toast, mushroom soup with brioche toast, pancakes and other healthier options like muesli bowls and fruits. As we had our meals, we only tried their signature drinks. First up was the 3 Angel Piccolo, which included 3 small cups of latte with different flavour profiles. What you get is 2 single espressos with 532 cookie monster beans with notes of tropical fruits, hazelnut cream and milk chocolate. The last cup is a double espresso with Pink Panther beans with flavours of pink fruits, raspberry juice, chocolate brownie and strawberry ice cream. The drinks were fruity with a good mix of coffee and nutty flavours

We also had the Affogato set, which featured different-flavoured ice cream with an espresso shot. The drinks featured a trio of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry gelato with an intense shot of espresso from the cookie monster beans. The vanilla one was the usual Affogato flavours, whereas the strawberry and chocolate ones were new Affogato flavours, which were creamy, fruity and velvety. The coffee was not too strong, and I really liked it with a coffee punch, which came through the cream ice cream

I also got their iced oolong tea, which was refreshing and thirst-quenching at the same time

Last but not least, the toilet really impressed me with a fully jungle theme from the wallpaper to the live plants placed around the toilet

Overall, the Breakfast Spot is a nice and chill cafe with legit coffee and drinks. Their food menu looks great as well, even though we did not get to try any of the food. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, and the service was also good and prompt. The barista did a good job with the drinks as well, with different innovative flavour profiles
