Being the IT Hub, many businesses across India have their headquarters located in Bangalore, and due to this unique gathering of young working professionals, there are plenty of cuisine options available for those who want a change from the local fare

Just near a cluster of offices on Museum Road, Muro is a restaurant offering a modern fusion menu of Cantonese and Thai fare. Set in a social setting with lush greenery in their outdoor seating and al fresco lounge chairs, you get transported into a Bali atmosphere almost immediately
Stepping inside the restaurant, it transforms into a different atmosphere, complete with plush armchairs and a breathtaking bar that takes centre stage in the indoor space. Complete with marblised tables and engraved wood pillars, and warm lights, the vibe was like an opulent bar in the Gatsby movie
First thing I need to put the spotlight on is the coconut water espresso. This is the first time I tried espresso mixed with coconut water, and it really surprised me. The subtle sweetness of the coconut water was just enough to balance the bittersweetness of the espresso. The drink was well-balanced with the fragrance of the coffee and the nutty sweetness of the coconut water. I fell in love with the drink and made sure I ordered it the next few times I visited
The first thing I went for was the soup, as my stomach was feeling weak from the spice, and this was my order over 2 days. The first was a chicken broth with mushrooms, and the 2nd a clear tofu soup. Both were very light but savoury and were great for my stomach at the point of time. Comparing the soups to the ones we get in Singapore, they were decent soups, but nothing too special. However, since the restaurant is located in India, where Chinese food is not that popular, I would say the soup is cooked really well
We had a mix of dim sum, like siew mai and mushroom dumplings, which were delicious and decent. They were generous with the fillings, and each mouth was bursting with bouncy meat and mushrooms. The skin is also quite thin, which gives the dim sum more space for generous fillings
We ordered a couple of iconic Chinese dishes: the fried chicken with cashew nuts, fried bean sauce, long beans and fried fish with Thai mango salad. The 3 dishes were surprisingly good and on point in terms of flavours. The taste was very authentic and extremely delicious. We wiped out the plate for these 3 dishes and wished the serving was larger

Last but not least is the fried rice, which looks small, but can feed 3 adults well. The flavours were light but were good with the dishes we ordered. There was a surprisingly acceptable amount of wok hei for the fried rice
Overall, I like the dishes served at Muro. On my 2nd visit, I had some of their Thai dishes, and they were also delicious. Most of all, the atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable with my favourite drink. It is definitely one of my go-to restaurants in Bengaluru
