We were out of energy when we finished our full day 1-day Kyoto tour, so we decided to just find a restaurant near our drop-off point to settle our dinner

Located on the basement floor of Kyoto Avanti, we went for Chojiro as there was no queue, and this was our first conveyor belt sushi meal in Japan
The restaurant is set up like any sushi conveyor belt restaurant, with the centre of the space dedicated to the open kitchen, where chefs make the sushi and sashimi. You can choose to take the counter seats or the counter seats. We were shown the counter seats, which were more comfortable with sofa seats and more privacy. Matcha powder was provided for hot green tea, and the rest is for you to take your favourite sushi from the conveyor belt
We ordered some of the usual suspects, like scallops sushi, salmon sushi with onions and grilled eel sushi. The ingredients were fresh, and the rice was slightly warm
We also ordered the botan shrimp sushi, oshinko maki, chotoru sushi, sea bream sushi, squid sushi, snapper sushi, foie gras sushi and mackerel sushi. While the ingredients were fresh, I felt that they were not the top-grade ingredients
Overall, the service of the restaurant is fast, and our sushi was served within 10 minutes. The ingredients were fresh, and I like the fact that we could customise the size of the rice for the sushi, so we would not overstuff ourselves. The only complaint I would have is the pricing of each sushi and which was higher than some other sushi chains
