Flower Pig 360

I am always into discovering new Korean barbeque restaurants in Singapore to find my favourite restaurant. My current favourite in terms of cuts of meat is still Go K BBQ but they are not the cheapest option around as well. When I kept seeing Flower Pig 360 appear on my feeds, I quickly gathered the forces to visit them for a meal

Located along the lovely stretch of Korean restaurants in Tanjung Pagar, Flower Pig 360 took over the corner space which used to be occupied by 2D1N barbeque restaurant which was a popular buffet restaurant. The new restaurant is bright and eye-catching with the bright green exterior paint and neon pink and green signboards. The cute pig mascot at the entrance is also something which stands out from the rest

The interior of the restaurant has the same green paint and quite over-the-top neon signboards hanging from the ceiling. The tables are arranged in a row with the standard fumes exhaustion pipes hanging from the ceiling. They also have rooms on the 2nd floor of the restaurants in the same decor of green and pink neon signs. Since there were no private bookings, we were placed in a room with other tables as well

There was a self-service bar for banchan and dessert which was Haagen Dazs ( limited to 1 per customer) You can also get condiments like garlic, chilli oil, cut green chillis and spring onions at the self-service counter

I’m not going to lie, but the best dishes that will make me return to Flower Pig are the Banchan dishes. They are one of the best I have eaten in Singapore and I am comparing all Korean restaurants I have eaten here and not just barbeque restaurants. The dishes which really got me addicted were the beansprouts, cabbage kimchi and tuna potato salad. While these dishes are not unique, the seasoning is super on point and flavours were extremely authentic and delicious. Our table went to the refill table at least 4 times to get refills on the banchan

We ordered the pork set which came with different cuts of meat like pork belly, collar and neck meat as well as some giant oyster mushrooms. The staff will help to grill the meat so you can wait for the meat to be served. They can be quite understaffed at some times so you still have to help flip the meat to make sure it does not get burnt. The meat quality is decent and the staff cooked it well which is less on the charred side as you can tell from the colour of the meat

The other dishes we ordered included the spicy tofu soup, kimchi pancakes and steamed egg which was a freebie given together with the set. The steamed egg was done with cheese so it has a nice cheese pull and it was more milky than the usual steamed eggs from barbeque restaurants. The spicy tofu soup was quite thick and rich and was perfect when paired with rice on its own but when eaten with barbeque meat, it was too rich for me. Lastly, the pancake had a chewy texture instead of the crispy kind. There was a slight crispiness to some of the edges of the pancake but the overall was soft and chewy with loads of ingredients

Overall, I am sold on the delicious banchan instead of the meat and will probably visit them again just to eat their banchan. Their aged meat is not as satisfying compared to my favourite restaurant but is still delicious and pretty affordable so I do not mind coming by just for a meal
