I had the chance to stay in a different hotel when I could not secure a room in the usual Skypark hotel I love to stay in Dongdaemun. So while searching for a hotel in the same area with great reviews, Novotel Ambassador came up in my search

Located within 5 minutes walk from Dongdaemun History and Culture Park station, the Novotel Ambassador also has a fantastic location surrounded by shopping malls, restaurants and street food stalls

One of the added advantages is the proximity of the bus stop for the airport limousine bus which is just in front of the next building( red arrow) which is a 1 minutes walk from the hotel entrance( marked with a red cross). Those who have been to Seoul will know how convenient it is to take the airport limousine bus and to have it almost right at the doorstep of the hotel is definitely a plus point. The bus which stops at this stop is number 6001

The hotel really stands out from the rest of the buildings since buildings in the area are all pretty old and dated. With a full glass exterior, the building looks very sleek and modern and looks extremely classy at night when the lights are all switched on

The check-in lobby is located on the 22nd floor of the hotel and has sufficient counters to ensure the check-in is fast and smooth. The entire check-in area is bright and spacious and has many sitting spaces for guests to sit and wait
We booked a residence with a King bed as I was travelling with my sister and her daughter. The room was extremely spacious and was as big as a 1 bedder studio apartment in Singapore. From the entrance to the room, there is a kitchenette area where you can actually cook for longer stays as well as wash your clothes with the machine. Some basic kitchenware like pots and spatulas are provided. The bed is semi-stiff with sufficient support and they even have a menu where you can order some basic Korean supper from the street side food stalls
The bathroom space is also huge with a long bench for you to place any make-up items. The huge mirror is a plus point for those who need to do their skincare or makeup routine. It would have been perfect if they included another sink for rooms with more occupants. The shower area and the toilet are separated which is good for people sharing the same room. All basic amenities are provided and the entire room is basically kept clean
Overall, the stay at Novotel was definitely enjoyable with a very spacious room which could accommodate at least 3 huge luggage and many more shopping bags. With a sit-in sofa area, the space allows you to rest and hang out when you return from outside. The location is also great but the price per room compared to Skypark is almost double so if you do have extras to spend and would prefer to stay in a global chain hotel, Novotel Ambassador is a great choice in the Dongdaemun area
