This will be a short review since I visited this restaurant alone for breakfast. Located in the touristy Dongdaemun area, this noodle shop is a branch of the franchise Suyuri Udon with many outlets in Seoul

The restaurant offers a variety of noodles from soup noodles to dry noodles as well as steamed dumplings with different types of fillings

You can ask for the English menu but the staff hardly speak any English so you basically order by pointing to the picture in the menu. Most of the items are priced at KRW 10,000 or below

The restaurant is not too big but enough to cater to at least 30 people at any one time. The set-up is simple and fuss-free with black leather stools at each table and a TV playing the local channel

Since I could not ask the staff if the broth had beef seasoning, I went for the safest choice of clam noodles. Based on my understanding of Korean seafood noodles, they will usually go for a lighter broth of anchovies or kelp. I was served a small dish of kimchi cabbage which was great with my noodles. The portion of clams was not too much and the soup was also cooked with radish to give it additional sweetness. Some people might find the broth bland but I considered it more like a light and refreshing taste with a faint umami flavour from the clams. It would be perfect if it was seasoned more but I wouldn’t say it tasted horrible. The noodles were chewy and great with the light soup, especially on the rainy day I visited
Overall, this is a fuss-free restaurant with quick turn-overs of locals and tourists popping in for a quick meal or hot noodles and soup. Personally, on normal days, I would have found the noodles too light for my tastebuds but on a rainy cold day and after days of heavy barbeque meats and spicy soups, the noodles were pretty refreshing. The best part, it is open 24 hours so you can pop over for light supper if you get too hungry to sleep
