We booked a night stay at the JI Hotel near Xining Railway Station to mainly freshen up before our train to Tibet
Located just 10 minutes walk from the railway station, this was one of our best choices, and because we stayed at the branch at Jiuzhaigou and had a wonderful stay, we chose the JI hotel over some nearer choices
Same as all the JI hotel branches, the decor follows a minimalistic approach with a lot of wood and warm lighting. There are many spacious areas for guests to sit around and relax, and spend their time spent with friends and family. The check-in counter staff were quick and friendly, and upon knowing our rush from coming from the airport and rushing to the train station, they actually offered us many more bottles of water to keep hydrated
The same design concept extends to the rooms and corridors, and gives you a full Muji aesthetic. The twin room was spacious, with a full-size dining table for sitting down for food or work. 2 super single beds, a flat TV on the walls and seamless lighting designs giving the room a warm and cosy atmosphere. Tea and coffee-making facilities were also provided. The layout of the room opens to the holding area where you can place your luggage and coats with the hanger at the side. The bathroom is separated into 2 areas, the toilet and the shower area, while the wash basin is located outside with the hair dryer and hand towels. I forgot to take pictures of the toilet since we were on a time crunch to get refreshed and a short rest before checking out
Overall, JI hotel is always one of my top recommendations for a stay in China with their well-maintained and clean rooms and an aesthetic that puts you at relax mode immediately. The friendly and helpful staff provide a comfortable stay away from home
