Everyone comes to Bangkok for body and foot massages, but the latest buzzword is hair spa, body check-up and dental services. More Singaporeans are coming to Bangkok for cheaper alternatives to services they would have otherwise done in Singapore

During my last trip, I decided I wanted to finally try a Thai hair spa with traditional Thai herbs. Located on Sukhumvit 60, this hair spa studio offers more than just hair spa; there are facial services, neck and shoulder massages and foot massages. Most of these services are packaged into a combo for customers to choose from
A short walk from BTS Bang Chak, LeLe Studio is nestled along a stretch of shop houses with a modern, chic salon design. The first storey houses the reception, the guest toilet, the waiting area, as well as a display area for their hair and herbal products
I was assigned a therapist who served me a wet towel, a glass of lemongrass tea and some cracker snacks while explaining to me the different herbs to be used and asked for my preference on the oils to be used for my massage. My shoes were changed to sllppers and I was led upstairs to the 2nd floor
There were more than 2 floors of rooms for services, and I was glad mine was on the 2nd floor only. All rooms are made for dual use, which was stated on the website during booking, so you might need to share the room with another person if you are alone. The bed was all prepared when I entered with a disposable bra top and an expandable tube top to be worn, so you are not exposed fully. There was also a tray of herbs and flowers prepared for the session
Once my hair spa and massage were done, I was ushered out to the salon area, where my hair was blown dry and basic styling was done. They used Dyson hair dryers, so it doesn’t harm the hair, and the stylists were gentle and quick
I was asked to change in the toilet, and my clothes were brought to me. While the toilets were clean, it was rather messy that everyone just dumped their gowns around the basin, and there was proper hooks or shelves for us to put our clothes or belongings. There was also a shower area where people getting full-body oil massages could wash up before leaving
Overall, the experience was relaxing and comfortable, and it managed to release some of my tension headache. The Thai herb smells were nice and comforting, making me relax all the way. I have since visited a couple of other hair spa and while the price is not too far off from LeLe spa, the experience was lacklustre compared to LeLe. I will still choose to go back to Lele Studio for a hair spa when I am in Bangkok
