I have officially found my favourite hotel in Bangkok. I remember when I first saw the building, I was quite intrigued by the bright neon lights and decorations, even from the outside. The hotel eluded a sense of hipster vibe, and shortly after, travel influencers started to post about the hotel
Situated next to the BIG C Supermarket and opposite Centralworld shopping mall, the hotel is in the perfect location. The main entrance to the hotel is via the side road next to Big C, and this is where most Grab drivers will drop you, but there is also another drop-off via the main road, which is quite inconvenient
From the side entrance, you will enter the first floor where the concierge is located. You can leave your luggage here if your check-in time is not ready. The area is huge with many sitting areas, and a sofa for customers to sit while waiting for their car pick up or food delivery
The main lobby for check-in is on the 9th floor, and the check-in counter is designed like a cinema ticket counter, complete with a neon signboard. There were also plenty of sitting areas for customers waiting for check-in. While the bubbly and friendly staff were processing our check-in, we were given a refreshing welcome drink
On top of being the check-in counter area, level 9 was also the main community and social level where the main restaurant is located for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A chill-out bar area for customers to get drinks and chill out, an outdoor barbecue area for grilling nights, a foosball table for customers to play, a meeting room for corporate meetings, as well as a gym which overlooks BIG C and Centralworld. The whole level was full of energy all of the time with energised music playing throughout the day. The instant you enter level 9, you feel full of energy even after a long day of shopping
I like how the theme of the hotel is extended beyond the lobby and onto each floor. The phone at the lift lobby on every floor comes in a cute retro booth, and the room numbers are shown on square light boxes for that quirky design element
The room was not super spacious, but everything you needed was available: a long mirror for OOTDs, foldable chairs and stools for sitting. A very cold fridge, coffee and tea making amenities, a retro phone, a safe and a sufficient storage area. There was, however, no wardrobe for clothes, but you can make use of the whole lot of hooks on the wall to hang clothes or anything that can be hung

As a hotel under the Marriott group, the room rate is not very cheap, but the quality of their beds made the price well worth it. It was almost as good as those you find in the main Marriott hotels. The pillows were also fluffy and comfortable, with clean and comfortable sheets
Last but not least, the toilet was of a reasonable size with all amenities provided. The water pressure for both the shower and the handheld bidet was fabulous, and I really like that there was a sitting area within the shower space where you can sit and enjoy the rain shower. The combination of the black and white tiles was also chic. Only 1 small thing which I experienced in both my stays is that the drainage of the shower area takes a while, so water could pool up
Overall, this is now my go-to hotel in Bangkok due to the location. Connected by skywalk to Big C, Gaysorn, Amarin, Hyatt, Centralworld, Chit Lom BTS, Platinum Shopping Mall and even all the way to Siam Paragon. Even if it was raining, you can connect to most shopping areas without getting into the sun or rain or the jam-packed streets of Bangkok. Siam Paragon is 10 minutes on foot, and Platinum is 5 minutes on foot. For those who are into hotel breakfast, I heard they serve quite a mean spread. I wanted to gatekeep this hotel so much, but decided to share it with my readers
