Hyatt Regency Liberation Square Chongqing

The last city for our trip was Chongqing, and with all the social media hype for the city, we were sure we wanted to stay somewhere near the Liberation Square, so we could be near most of the sights

We decided to splurge a bit more and went for one of the chain hotels, Hyatt Regency Liberation Square Chongqing, which is a 2-minute walk away from the Liberation Square and a 15-minute walk to the famous Chongqing old steps and Hongya Cave

A 5-star chain hotel, it is connected to Metropolitan Oriental Plaza and offers many options for both food and shopping. It is also a stone’s throw from the eatery street, where you can get many local street foods. The hotel has a spacious drop-off point, so many people actually drop off at the hotel to go to the surrounding sights. The lobby is huge and spacious, and the check-in process was prompt and quick, with a lot of space for guests to hang around. There is always a small lobby cafe that offers coffee and cakes, and a concierge counter where most delivery parcels or food are left. We have been coming to the counter multiple times to get our delivery food items throughout our stay

As there were 5 of us, we were offered an upgrade to 1 suite room and the other a twin room so that both rooms can be opposite each other instead of getting a twin room and adding a rollaway bed. It added up to be more value for money, so we went for the option. The suite room was ready first, which has a huge living room, and the sofa could be converted to a bed, a working desk area, and a bathroom in the living room. There is also a bar area with a wash basin, a fridge, and a coffee machine. The master room has a walk-in wardrobe as well as an en-suite bathroom, a king-sized bed, and a make-up desk area

We got the keys to the 2nd room, which was just across the suite, and we could open both doors and walk across like our private area. This was a twin room, which is smaller but has quite a good space for all of us to gather around as well. Since there was a proper sit-down dining table, we had most of our order in meals in this room instead. The bathroom is extremely huge and even bigger than the one in the suite. There were so many tables and storage that we had more than enough space for luggage and shopping bags. The beds were comfortable, and the amenities provided were all good quality

Overall, the stay was fabulous from the check-in process to the rooms, which were comfortable and well-cleaned and well-maintained. The service was also quick in clearing our trash from our take-out meals and getting additional amenities for us when requested. The plus point is definitely the location, which is a stone’s throw from most iconic landmarks, shopping and delicious local delights
