As we joined a private tour for our time in Huang Long and Jiu Zhai Gou, most of the restaurants and eating places were recommended by our tour guide, and we were simply driven there for our meals. This was apparently a rather popular spot for tourists to have their meals before proceeding to Huang Long for their tour

Named An Ran Song Wu, this place is a restaurant as well as a small hotel, as it is in the middle of the journey between the train station and the tourist sights. It is considered one of the bigger and cleaner restaurants along the stops, which is why most tour groups stop here for their meals

The setup was simple, with multiple big tables for meals in one singular hall, and a semi-transparent counter where you can see part of the service kitchen. The place is spacious and overall kept clean
The dishes were unexpectedly large in serving size, and we totally over-ordered. One of our friends suffered from altitude sickness, so she could hardly eat, and we ended up with a lot of food, and we shared most of it with our guide and driver. We had mapo tofu, plain stir-fry cabbage and a huge tub of rice. The food was more like home-cooked meals, and flavours were generally saltier than usual
We also had stir-fried pork with chilli, blanched lettuce, and fried brinjal with meat, accompanied by a chilli dipping sauce. The meal dish was very oily, so we had to dab off the oil before eating it. The flavours were salty but acceptable when paired with rice
Overall, they were very generous with the servings, and most of the tables could not finish the food on their plates, and most of it went to waste. In terms of flavour, do not expect any fancy dishes or taste, but more cosy home-cooked style food, which fills you up substantially
