OZO George Town Penang

The last time I visited Penang was before the pandemic and there were not many selections when it comes to hotels within Georgetown. I remember staying nearer to the beachfront so this time round, I made sure to find a hotel stay nearer town

After much reviews and research, I found the OZO George Town which is located right in the centre of the city where it takes only a few minutes to either walk or travel by car to popular eating sites and sightseeing locations

Only 30 minutes from the airport, the hotel was opened in 2020 and is relatively new. The check-in counter is on the 20th floor while there is a 24-hour security counter located on the ground floor

The main lobby and check-in counter are located on the 20th floor and it was empty when we arrived with only 1 staff on duty. There are some computer stations for guests to use as well as a lounging area for guests to rest and chill out with a nice view of the surroundings. The check-in process was done in 10 minutes and was quite fuss-free

We booked the family room with 2 rooms joined by a connecting door. One of the rooms has 2 twin beds while the other room has a double bed. The size of teh room is decent with ample space to fit 2 medium-sized luggage comfortably. There is also an ottoman and armchair in the room for more seat options in the room. There is also a small desk for guests who need to work. The room is decorated in a simple and modern design which is comfortable and soothing to the eyes. Surprisingly, for a small hotel, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and all of us got great night rests for the 2 nights we stayed in Ozo

When you enter the room, the bathroom is on the left while the wardrobe faces the shower. There is a utility shelf at the side of the wardrobe where the coffee machine, kettle and cups are placed. The hotel also provides complimentary coffee capsules and tea bags. The bathroom has clear wet and dry separation and the shower is cordoned off with a glass cubicle. The size of the bathroom is pretty decent and the shower temperature is hot enough for me

Overall, my group of friends really enjoyed the stay at Ozo Penang George Town as the rooms were well maintained and kept clean. The location is also near to many attractions. We had some of the best sleep in Ozo during our trip. The security on the ground floor made us feel safe even when returning to the hotel late at night. There is also a convenience store just opposite the hotel, a swimming pool, a restaurant, a gym and meeting facilities within the hotel. I will definitely stay again during my next visit to Penang
